The College of Atmospheric Sciences Invited Leaders and Experts to Guide the Construction of First-Class Disciplines

       On April 13th, the College of Atmospheric Sciences invited Xu Xiaofeng, the former deputy director of the China Meteorological Administration and the deputy secretary of the Party Group, Yang Zhi, deputy director of the Disaster Reduction Division, Li Jiming, director of the People's Shadow Center, Bao Wenzhong, director of the Gansu Provincial Meteorological Bureau, Yang Zhijie, deputy director of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region Meteorological Bureau, Prof. Chen Baojun of the School of Atmospheric Sciences of Nanjing University, Prof. Yin Yan, dean of the School of Atmospheric Sciences of Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, and other leading experts to guide the College's first-class discipline construction.
       Xu Xiaofeng and the entourage visited the semi-arid climate and environmental observation station of our university and discussed with the leaders of the College of Atmospheric Sciences. The two sides exchanged ideas on scientific research, discipline construction, and personnel training. They hoped to promote the establishment of an "open, complementary, and mutually beneficial" cooperation model, deepen the cooperation between the bureaus and schools, jointly establish research institutions, declare scientific research projects, train high-level meteorological talents, and hold innovation competitions.

       In recent years, the College of Atmospheric Sciences has actively integrated into the national strategy in accordance with the “three initiatives” of the Party Committee of Lanzhou University, actively served local economic and social development, and continuously deepened the cooperation with the meteorological administrations, ecological and environmental protection departments, and related universities and research institutes of the state, provinces, and municipalities to promote the construction of first-class disciplines.
