On December 17, China Meteorological Administration and Lanzhou University signed a framework cooperation agreement to jointly build the College of Atmospheric Sciences. Yu Rucong, deputy director of the China Meteorological Administration, Yao Xuexiang, director of the Science and Technology and Climate Change Department of the China Meteorological Administration, Duan Yihong, director of the Chinese Academy of Meteorological Sciences, Bao Wenzhong, director of the Gansu Meteorological Bureau, and Yan Chunhua, president of Lanzhou University, attended the signing ceremony. The ceremony was presided over by Wang Weiguo, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Atmospheric Sciences.
Yu Rucong said that the talents cultivated by Lanzhou University have made important contributions to China's meteorological cause. In the future, the cooperation between the two parties should be brought to a new level, giving full play to the advantages of the disciplines and human resources of Lanzhou University and the scientific research and business advantages of the China Meteorological Administration, continuously expanding cooperation fields and cooperation methods, and establishing pragmatic and efficient cooperation mechanisms to serve the national strategy and local economic and social development.
Yan Chunhua said that the cooperation between the bureau and schools has provided a broader resource sharing platform for the development of the atmospheric sciences of Lanzhou University. It is hoped that the two parties will actually implement the agreement in terms of personnel training, scientific research services, etc., so as to improve the level of atmospheric discipline construction and enhance Lanzhou University's ability to serve the high-quality development of meteorology in the new era.
Yan Chunhua and Yu Rucong signed the contract on behalf of both parties. According to the agreement, the two parties will form the Council of the College of Atmospheric Sciences of Lanzhou University and the Development Strategy Advisory Committee, jointly carry out key meteorological technology research, jointly build scientific and technological innovation bases, jointly carry out atmospheric science teaching reforms and curriculum construction, and jointly strengthen the training of meteorological talents, and carry out extensive cooperation in the fields of cooperation and exchange at home and abroad.

Before the meeting, Yu Rucong gave an academic report entitled 'Follow the Progress of the Times and Build Smart Digital Weather' for the teachers and students of the college.
