From November 15 to 17,2024, the annual progress seminar of the "14th Five-Year National Key R&D Program" project "Environmental Atmospheric Biological Aerosol Exposure Characteristics and Health Risk Prevention and Control", which was participated by Professor Huang Zhongwei from the College of Atmospheric Sciences, Lanzhou University, was successfully held in Tianshui, Gansu Province.

Researcher Gao Zhixian from the Academy of Military Medical Sciences (online), Professor Guo Xinbiao from Peking University, Professor Zhang Yunhong from Beijing Institute of Technology, Professor Feng Huyuan from Lanzhou University, Professor Sang Nan from Shanxi University, Researcher Wang Xiaoping from the Institute of Tibetan Plateau Research at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Qi Jianhua from Ocean University of China (online), and Researcher Huang Yu from the Institute of Earth Environment at the Chinese Academy of Sciences attended the annual progress seminar as project advisory experts. In addition, over 40 participants from project partner institutions, including Guangdong University of Technology, Peking University, Beihang University, Fudan University, Tongji University, East China Normal University, Qingdao University, Chang'an University, Jiangsu Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention, and Beijing Craft Biotechnology Co., Ltd., also attended the meeting.

At the opening ceremony of the conference, Professor An Taicheng, project leader from Guangdong University of Technology, delivered a welcome speech, thanked and welcomed all the experts and members of the project team, and looked forward to the valuable opinions and guidance from the experts on the annual implementation progress of the project and the arrangement of various research work.
The seminar was jointly chaired by Researcher Gao Zhixian and Professor Guo Xinbiao. Project leader Professor An Taicheng first reported on the overall progress of the project, providing an annual summary from aspects such as research background, research plan, current progress, organization and implementation, and future plans. Subsequently, members of the project team—Associate Professor Shen Fangxia, Professor Huang Zhongwei, Professor Li Dan, and Associate Professor Liang Zhishu—each presented their respective topic's annual progress report.

After the project team's report, the attending experts questioned the team based on the research plan and evaluation criteria outlined in the task book. They also thoroughly discussed specific issues with each topic and the overall progress of the project, offering valuable suggestions and solutions. The project team carefully adopted the experts' advice and responded to each point of inquiry.
The participating experts fully affirmed the overall research progress of the project, and put forward guiding suggestions on the implementation direction and key nodes of the next stage of the project. They encouraged the project team to continue research and exploration on the basis of annual achievements, and strive to achieve theoretical innovation and key technological breakthroughs. The annual progress seminar was successfully concluded.
This annual progress seminar not only showcased the latest achievements of the project in the field of environmental atmospheric biogenic aerosols but also facilitated communication and collaboration among participating units. Through in-depth discussions and suggestions from experts, the project team was able to clarify future research directions and technological breakthroughs more clearly. This is of great significance for enhancing China's scientific research level in the area of atmospheric biogenic aerosol health risk prevention and control.
