6 Teachers from Lanzhou University Were Selected as the Second Batch of Top-notch Leading Talents in Gansu Province

       A few days ago, the Talent Work Leading Group of the Gansu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China announced the second batch of top-notch talents in Gansu Province. Six teachers from Lanzhou University were selected, namely Professor Deng Jianming from the School of Life Sciences, Professor Xu Pengfei from the State Key Laboratory of Functional Organic Molecular Chemistry, Professor Huang Jianping of the College of Atmospheric Sciences, Professor Dong Guanghui of the School of Resources and Environment, Professor Ding Zhigang of the School of Management, Chief Physician and Professor Li Xun of the First Hospital.
 
       News background:
       In order to further strengthen the construction of a high-level talent team in Gansu Province, in October 2019, the General Office of the Gansu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China issued a document by the General Office of the Gansu Provincial People's Government. It plans to gradually select about 100 talents with high academic skills and high performance from the provincial leading talents. It aims to cultivate a team of top-notch talents who are expected to be selected as "Academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences", "Ten Thousand Talents Program", "Yangtze River Scholars" and other national talent projects (titles). The training cycle for top-notch and leading talents in Gansu Province is 3 years. Gansu Province provides funding support at the rate of 1 million yuan per person per year in the science and technology field and 500,000 yuan per year per person in other fields. In 2020, the Organization Department of the Provincial Party Committee selected the first batch of 25 provincial top-notch leading talents, of which 6 people from Lanzhou University, Wang Wei, Wang Jize, Luo Honggang, He Jinsheng, Nie Junsheng, and Xia Yayi were selected; the second batch of 27 professional and technical personnel were selecteda as top-notch leading talents in Gansu Province.
