In order to enable the teachers and students to fully understand first-aid skills and knowledge, enhance emergency handling ability and safety awareness, on the afternoon of May 19, Heli and Hu Wenke, chief nurses of the Emergency Center of Lanzhou University Second Hospital, came to the College of Atmospheric Sciences and held a science education lecture on first-aid knowledge in B105, the second teaching building of Yuzhong Campus.

During the activity, Heli emphasized the importance of the 'golden four minutes' by explaining the theoretical knowledge of the system and simulating the on-site operation. At the same time, the theoretical knowledge and correct operation of CPR and 'Heimlich' first aid technique were explained to the students present, and the demonstration was carried out with the aid of on-site teaching aids.

Hu Wenke taught cardiopulmonary resuscitation and 'Heimlich' first aid technique on the spot, and explained the steps of external chest compression, cleaning oral foreign bodies, opening airway, artificial respiration, etc. The students who participated in the study were absorbed and observed carefully.
After the demonstration, the students actively participated in the activity for on-site drilling under the guidance of on-site medical personnel. Each student experienced the standardized operation of cardiopulmonary resuscitation and 'Heimlich' first aid techniques through the practice of model person teaching aids, mastered the basic theoretical knowledge and basic skills of rescue, and improved the ability of self rescue and mutual rescue in response to emergencies.
This activity enabled the teachers and students of the college to improve their awareness of epidemic prevention and control and their ability to respond to emergencies and accidental injuries. It also help them to recognize the importance of self rescue and mutual rescue, and strengthen the safety awareness of students, which played an important role in promoting the construction of a safe campus.
