       Ma Lei, male, was from Etuoke Banner, Inner Mongolia, born in February 1988, graduated with a Ph.D. from the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in January 2019, and was hired as a young researcher and master tutor in May 2021. He is mainly engaged in the research of water carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus material cycle, ecosystem productivity and greenhouse gas (CO2, CH4 and N2O) emissions in terrestrial ecosystems under the interference of global changes and human activities. His research first author papers have been published in Sci. Total Environ., Atmos. Environ., Environ. Sci. Pollut. R., Livest. Sci. and Journal of Grass Industry as, and have been cited 200 times until now.

Research interest: Process and mechanism of land use and land use changes on grassland, wetlands, farmland ecosystem productivity, carbon and nitrogen phosphorus cycle and carbon and nitrogen trace gases including greenhouse gases CO2, CH4, and N2O and environmental polluting gases such as NH3, NO; grazing / breeding system productivity collaboration to reduce ecological environmental load; land ecosystem carbon and nitrogen footprint; climate and nitrogen gas emissions of terrestrial ecosystem.
 
Research method: Point-scale carbon and nitrogen flux observations by using box-based gas chromatography or laser analysis instrument technology, combined with isotope tracing methods to fully understand the cycle of carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus in terrestrial ecosystems.Regional or global scale carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus material cycle and carbon and nitrogen exchange laws between the earth and the atmosphere are studied using synthetic-analysis or meta-analysis methods based on big data.

Student training:
1.Assist the partner teacher during working at China Agricultural University to guide the doctoral student Zhang Hao, and at present, he is currently a postdoctoral researcher in China Agricultural University.
 
2.During his post-blog, he assisted the cooperative tutor to guide University of Freiburg undergraduate Svenja Christ in the successful completion of 'Clover cover gradient and cattle slurry application effects on greenhouse gas fluxes from pre-alpine grassland in Southern Germany' graduation thesis design. Currently she studies for a master's degree in University of Bern.
