In order to further strengthen exchanges and cooperation and improve the management ability and level of the college, from December 5 to 7, Tian Xulong, secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Atmospheric Sciences, Lanzhou University, and Huang Zhongwei, dean of the school, led the leadership team and teacher representatives of the school to Sun Yat-sen University and National University of Defense Technology for research, exchange and talent introduction.
At the School of Atmospheric Sciences at Sun Yat-sen University, Dean Dong Wenjie extended a warm welcome to the delegation from the College of Atmospheric Sciences at Lanzhou University and congratulated them on the 66th anniversary of the establishment of the atmospheric science discipline at Lanzhou University and the 20th anniversary of the founding of the College of Atmospheric Sciences. He expressed his hope that both sides would collaborate in emerging fields such as information science and artificial intelligence, working together to explore new growth points in atmospheric science. Tian Xulong thanked the School of Atmospheric Sciences at Sun Yat-sen University for its long-term support and assistance, and he looked forward to future cooperation in faculty exchange and teaching, joint student internships, graduate student training, team building, and other areas, aiming to integrate advantageous resources and deepen collaboration to continuously enhance the development level and research innovation capabilities of the discipline. During the symposium, both sides introduced their institutional histories and conditions, and engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including scientific research cooperation, research platforms, talent cultivation, education and teaching, talent team building, and student affairs.

At the School of Meteorology and Oceanography of National University of Defense Technology, Vice Dean Wang Ju introduced the development history of the institute. Wang Ju stated that since its establishment, the College of Atmospheric Sciences at Lanzhou University has cultivated a large number of defense students with solid professional foundations, providing a substantial number of outstanding talents to National University of Defense Technology and the military. He hopes that both sides can leverage their respective strengths to further cooperate in areas such as space weather, meteorological observation, and forecasting. Huang Zhongwei noted that the College of Atmospheric Sciences at Lanzhou University and the School of Meteorology and Oceanography of National University of Defense Technology have a deep foundation in cooperation. He hopes that in the future, both sides will continue to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in project applications, talent cultivation, and scientific research, promoting the development of new productive forces through the deep integration of industry, academia, and research, and jointly contributing positive energy to the construction of a science and technology powerhouse.
