On December 9, the launch meeting and implementation plan demonstration meeting of the national major scientific research instrument development project "Development of advanced multi-excitation wavelength full-spectrum biological aerosol lidar" —led by Professor Huang Zhongwei from the College of Atmospheric Sciences at Lanzhou University, was held in Lanzhou. Vice President Chen Ximeng attended the meeting and delivered the opening remarks. The opening ceremony was presided over by Zhang Qiangqiang, Deputy Director of the Institute of Science and Technology Development at Lanzhou University.

Academician Zhang Renhe from Fudan University, Academician Huang Jianping from Lanzhou University, Academician Shen Xueshun from the China Meteorological Administration, Professor Gong Wei from Wuhan University, Professor Hua Dengxin from Xi'an University of Technology, Professor Qin Quanliang from Chengdu University of Information Technology, Professor Yi Fan from Wuhan University, Professor Liu Yongqin from Lanzhou University, Professor Zhao Kun from Nanjing University, Professor Jiang Jingkun from Tsinghua University, and Professor Han Yong from Sun Yat-sen University attended the launch meeting as project advisory experts.

Chen Ximeng stated that the National Major Scientific Research Instrument Development Project bears the strategic mission of the country. For a long time, Lanzhou University has focused on national strategic needs, accelerating basic research and building key national assets. This project, led by Professor Huang Zhongwei, is the fourth National Major Scientific Research Instrument Development Project won by our university, demonstrating the college's strength in developing high-end instruments for atmospheric remote sensing. We hope that experts will provide valuable optimization suggestions and meticulous guidance on the project implementation plan. The university will further strengthen project process management to ensure smooth and efficient progress.

Zhang Renhe presided over the project implementation plan demonstration meeting. Huang Zhongwei made a detailed report on the project implementation plan from the aspects of scientific significance and necessity, research content and innovation, research basis and feasibility, expected results and budget.

The expert group conducted a comprehensive and in-depth inquiry and discussion on the project report, focusing particularly on the overall objectives, research content, research plan, expected outcomes, and evaluation indicators, offering specific opinions and suggestions. The experts unanimously agreed that the project undertaking unit has a solid research foundation, clear development goals, and a reasonable and feasible implementation plan. They hope that the project team will strictly adhere to the schedule for advancing each stage of the tasks, accelerate the industrialization process of scientific research results, and contribute to enhancing China's core competitiveness in precision instrument equipment.

Huang Zhongwei thanked the experts for their valuable opinions, and said that the project team would earnestly absorb the suggestions of the expert group, carefully plan the research path, optimize the research plan, and strive to complete the project research content and assessment indicators with high quality on schedule.
