In order to respond to the call of 'World Meteorological Day', we will further strengthen the popularization of meteorological science, so that students can understand the weather, and know the impact of global climate change and human activities on climate change, which can guide students to firmly establish the awareness of environmental protection of the natural and marine ecology. We work hard to improve the professional quality of students in our college, including their innovative and entrepreneurial ability and academic research level, stimulate students' enthusiasm for independent learning, and broaden students' deeper understanding of the subject. On March 27, 2021, at the invitation of Professor Chen Siyu of our college, Ma Weiqiang, researcher at the Institute of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, Chinese Academy of Sciences, visited the college and made academic reports. The report was held at Tianshan Hall A201, and the title was 'Comprehensive Observation and Research on the Process of Earth-Atmosphere Energy and Water Exchange in the Tibetan Plateau'.

Researcher Ma Weiqiang was graduated from the Department of Atmospheric Sciences of Lanzhou University in 2001. He has been engaged in atmospheric boundary layer processes, satellite remote sensing applications, and land-atmosphere interaction simulation research on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau for a long time. In the meeting, researcher Ma Weiqiang introduced the top ten projects of the Qinghai-Tibet scientific expedition to the students. Researcher Ma Weiqiang participated in the Ministry of Science and Technology’s 'Second Qinghai-Tibet Scientific Expedition' and the Chinese Academy of Sciences’ Special A project, and deepened the understanding of field observations, remote sensing and model analysis, which has great scientific significance for revealing the influence mechanism of my country’s monsoon system and global weather and climate processes. At the same time, it also meets the national needs for a more accurate understanding of my country's monsoon system.

The students listened carefully. Through this report, the students deepened their understanding of the energy and water exchange process of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, and they also had a better understanding of scientific research, which helps students to further study professional knowledge.
