According to the "Notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Education on Announcement of the Evaluation Results of Key Laboratories in the Field of Mathematics, Physics and Geosciences of the Ministry of Education in 2020" (Education Science and Technology Department Letter [2021] No. 2),  the evaluation results of the Key Laboratory of Western Environment Ministry of Education built by Lanzhou University were excellent, and the evaluation results of the Key Laboratory of Semi-arid Climate Change of the Ministry of Education and the Key Laboratory of Western Disaster and Environmental Mechanics of the Ministry of Education were good. This is the third consecutive time that the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Environmental Education of Western China has been rated as excellent in periodic evaluations since 2009.

       The school will adhere to the "four orientations" and aim to build national strategic scientific and technological strength, gather superior innovation resources, improve management and operation mechanisms, strengthen the construction of talent teams, promote laboratory construction and innovation capabilities, and serve national major strategies and aims to play an important role in participating in the global technological competition

 

       In 2020, the Ministry of Education organized a five-year regular evaluation of the key laboratories of the Ministry of Education in the fields of mathematics, science and geosciences. 28 laboratories in the field of mathematics and physics participated in the evaluation, of which 5 laboratories had excellent evaluation results, and 20 laboratories were evaluated as good; 56 laboratories in the field of geosciences participated in the evaluation, of which 6 laboratories had excellent evaluation results, and 44 laboratories were evaluated as good.
