Huang Jianping, an academician of the CAS Member, a professor of Lanzhou University, and the leader of the national college Huang Danian style teaching team, made the first report on the spirit of educators with the theme "The needs of the motherland is our direction of progress".

 

 

       At the meeting, Academician Huang Jianping deeply recalled Chou Jifan’s affectionate story of returning to China in 2003 in response to the call of "taking national needs as his own responsibility". He was always full of national feelings, paying attention to the ecological security in the west, cultivating morality, cultivating the teaching circle, devoting himself to education, and serving the country. After Academician Huang Jianping came to Lanzhou University, he overcame many difficulties and built the first international standard climate observation station (SACOL Station), which led the discipline of atmospheric science in Lanzhou University to develop rapidly into a "double first-class" construction discipline. He led the team to hike the desert, climb the plateau, cross the glaciers all the year round, and take root in the northwest. He has been committed to the research of semi-arid climate change for a long time, and achieved a series of original research results with strong foundation and high influence, winning the voice of China in international climate negotiations. "The call of the motherland is the horn of our return, and the needs of the motherland is the direction of our progress." Academician Huang Jianping vividly interprets the spirit of educators with simple and emotional stories and personal practice of cultivating education.

 

 

       It is reported that from March 1st to 3rd, Academician Huang Jianping will conduct a tour report in Urumqi, Lanzhou, and Chengdu. The theme of this tour preaching activity is "Promoting the Spirit of Educators and Striving to be a Great Teacher in the New Era".
