Experts from Gansu Provincial Meteorological Bureau GiveCareer Planning Lectures to Students from the College of Atmospheric Sciences, Lanzhou University

       In order to further assist the 2022 students in career planning, gain a deeper understanding of the work content of the Meteorological Bureau, and clarify employment goals, on the occasion of the 2024 Meteorological Science and Technology Week series of activities, on May 20th, Yang Xiaojun, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Department of the Gansu Provincial Meteorological Bureau, Fang Feng, Deputy Director and Senior Engineer of the Lanzhou Regional Climate Center, Fu Shuangxi, Deputy Director and Senior Engineer of the Gansu Provincial Artificial Weather Modification Office, and Kong Xiangwei, Deputy Director and Senior Engineer of the Lanzhou Central Meteorological Observatory, visited the College of Atmospheric Sciences at Lanzhou University as 'industry mentors' and gave speeches to students in Room C203 of Tianshan Hall, Yuzhong Campus. The event was chaired by Huang Yu, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee.
       Starting from practical work, the experts brought vivid lectures on professional exploration and industry awareness to the students.
 
 
       Fang Feng explained to the students the main responsibilities of national and provincial climate services, as well as their important roles in agricultural meteorological services, ecological monitoring and evaluation, disaster risk assessment, and major decision-making.
 
 
       Fu Shuangxi introduced the construction and achievements of the Qilian Mountain Formation Cloud Experimental Demonstration Base to the students, giving them a preliminary understanding of weather modification work from the aspects of base construction, equipment layout and functions, and future prospects.
 
 
       Kong Xiangwei introduced the historical evolution, main functions, talent team, and team culture of Lanzhou Central Meteorological Observatory, and looked forward to his classmates coming to work in the future and contributing to the meteorological forecasting industry.
 
 
       This activity not only broadened students' professional horizons and increased their knowledge reserves, but also provided a platform for students to communicate with experts in related fields. By studying career planning courses, students can better understand the current industry situation, achieve early positioning, early preparation, and early action.
