The Department of Atmospheric Physics currently has 14 teaching, research, and experimental personnel, including 5 professors (1 outstanding youth, 1 leading talent in the Ten Thousand Talents Program, 1 national outstanding youth, and 1 outstanding youth in the Ten Thousand Talents Program), 1 young researcher, 5 associate professors, and 2 senior engineers. More than 80% of the teachers have visiting experience in top universities abroad. The teachers of the entire department mainly focus on the physics, dynamics, radiation and other processes at various heights of the atmosphere, conducting scientific research exploration and educational teaching. The Department of Atmospheric Physics has established the main research directions of mid to high level atmospheric physics, aerosol and cloud precipitation physics and radiation, atmospheric boundary layer, atmospheric electricity, etc.The Department of Atmospheric Physics is responsible for undertaking the professional courses of "Atmospheric Physics", "Advanced Atmospheric Physics", "Frontiers in Atmospheric Physics" offered by the college for undergraduate, master's, and doctoral students, as well as multiple basic courses such as "Boundary Layer Meteorology", "Atmospheric Radiation and Remote Sensing", and "Advanced Language Programming"; It is responsible for maintaining the high-performance computing cluster platform and website construction of the college; In recent years, teachers in the Department of Atmospheric Physics have achieved significant results in teaching and research, publishing a series of original research papers in important international journals such as Nature Climate Change, Nature Communications, National Science Review, IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, and Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics.
