In accordance with the school's 'three initiatives' , from January 4th to 6th, Wang Weiguo, secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Atmospheric Sciences, Huang Zhongwei, vice dean of the College of Atmospheric Sciences, Prof. Pan Feng and Prof. Chen Qiang, directors of the Environmental Assessment Center, went to Wuhai City to carry out work docking on the prevention and control of air pollution in Wuhai City. The purpose is to implement the strategic cooperation agreement between Lanzhou University and Wuhai City and deepen the cooperation between the university and locality.

       Wang Weiguo and his party discussed with the leaders of Wuhai City, District Environmental Protection Bureau and relevant departments, and visited five companies including the Inner Mongolia Meifang Coal Coking Co., Ltd., Wuhai Guangna Coal Coking Co., Ltd, Inner Mongolia Xingfa Group Tenglong Bio-fine Chemical Co., Ltd., and Inner Mongolia Huaxin Group Fine Chemical Co., Ltd.. Through the discussion with company controllers, the on-site investigation, and other ways the production process of the product and the pollution control work were understood.
