From April 6th to 12, personnel of the College of Atmospheric Sciences attended the 2019 Annual Meeting of the European Union of Earth Sciences in Vienna, Austria, to carry out high-level talent recruitment and Promotion. The purpose of this visit is to broaden the talent recruitment channels, expand external influences, and promote the construction of first-class disciplines.

       During the meeting, Wang Weiguo, secretary of the Party Committee of the College, Zhang Beidou, vice president of the College,etc. communicated with scholars and postdoctoral students of many universities and scientific research institutions at home and abroad including Tsinghua University, Nanjing University, Fudan University, University of Leeds, UK, Max Planck Institute of Chemistry, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Helsinki University, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Center for Atmospheric Research, and many other universities and research institutions. They introduced the College of Atmospheric Sciences, talents' treatment, and the scientific research platforms, etc. They also showed sincere welcome to talents to join Lanzhou University and College of Atmospheric Sciences. Intentional agreement with some talents were reached.

       During the meeting, the head of the College of Atmospheric Sciences associated with many alumni at home and abroad, and introduced the achievements of the College as well as the 110th anniversary of Lanzhou University. They also expressed the sincere welcome to the alumni to go back to the alma mater and provide suggestions for the construction of a ‘double first-class’ university.
