       On the morning of July 16, the launching ceremony of the 13th 'Meteorological Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Publicity Volunteers China Tour' was held in Mingyue Village, Pujiang County, Chengdu. It was sponsored by China Meteorological Administration, Ministry of Education, Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, China Association for Science and Technology, undertook by Chengdu University of Information Technology, China Meteorological Society, Pujiang County People’s Government, and co-organized by 20 relevant universities including the Association for Science and Technology, Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, Lanzhou University, various provincial and municipal meteorological bureaus, meteorological societies, education departments, youth league committees, ect..
       'Meteorological Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Publicity Volunteer China Tour' is currently the largest special science service activities in China with the largest number of participating units. Since participating in the event in 2009, the College of Atmospheric Sciences, Lanzhou University, has actively promoted college students to use their professional knowledge to make due contributions to enhancing the meteorological disaster prevention and mitigation capabilities of the whole society in combination with professional characteristics, discipline advantages and social needs. More than 2500 students have participated among them. Our volunteers have covered more than 30 provinces, regions and cities, and more than 400 counties and cities. The level of activities has been continuously improved and the influence has continued to extend. In 2021, Lanzhou University will select 10 meteorological disaster prevention and mitigation volunteer teams, which will go to Shandong, Gansu, Hubei, Shanxi, Hebei and other places at the end of July to carry out a 28-day meteorological disaster prevention and mitigation publicity.
